Need some help (work related)

So basically I was given a mobile from
work which didn’t work. I am now needing to use it and need to take it into the office tomorrow but the thing is, I have lost it, I split with my ex about 6 months ago and moved back to parents and I have no idea what I did with it! I’m worried I will be in trouble

I think you come clean. Or you tell a white lie and say when it didn't work you brought it into the office, put it somewhere safe and now its gone. Spitting with an ex and your living arrangements don't need to be shared with your employer imho. Hopefully the device wasn't too expensive and won't cause them a major issue to replace.

Just be honest, don’t stress about it. They are hardly going to sack you over a phone. Just apologise and offer to pay?

OP, is it a large corporate? I realised I'd lost a phone when I left a job and no one gave two hoots, IT just have to log it as lost.

Say you "put it somewhere safe", but as it doesn't work you can't ring it to find it.... Or say it must have dropped out your bag on way in tomorrow 😅

Try not to stress, stuff happens aslong as its not a regular thing I don't think they will see it as a big deal. Just be honest.
