if the phone code would go back to 01 we could all make like we were about to phone into Swap Shop/Saturday Superstore - in other words we could all kick back and make like it’s 1982/83.

I don’t suppose you realise the reason the numbers changed in the first place?
same as why 3 digit phone numbers became 4 then 6 digit.

The numbers were changed to expand capacity. Not for a laugh. 🙄

I know. I’m just being ridiculously sentimental for my childhood Saturday morning TV programmes and the excellent ‘Crimewatch’ which was wrongly I think taken off air - so phrase indulge me
