To love Mummy Pig's gender reveal's gentle lampooning of this new trend?!

I mean no one is ever going to beat that as a social media reveal are they?

I think its silly and funny and above all, fun.

I am 52 and far too invested in this because my youngest adored PP (she is 13 now) and the older ones are too as they watched it with her. It is just the right side of funny to be appealing to adults who are forced to watch it with their kids, and still be entertaining for the kids.

My favourite was when Daddy Pig built a house for the Wolf family and Daddy Wolf (Alexander Armstrong) asked what the Pigs house was built from and Daddy Pig says "Bricks, so dont even think about it..."!

I can’t believe I just googled this.

My kids are 8 and 6, and are now way too cool and mature for Peppa, and I can’t believe I am watching a clip from that bloody cartoon after their bedtime. .

It’ll be all about the new merchandise they can sell. Bluey will be out and Peppa will be everywhere with crazy parents hunting down the new baby pig.

Katemax82 · 25/04/2025 21:45

My favourite bit was when they had a recorder concert at pre school, all the parents sitting there with fake smiles plastered on their faces and side eyeing each other in united suffering

And so what if it is? Someone somewhere will always take advantage, witness the madness of the Buzz Lightyear Xmas (I GOT ONE!!!! DS1 was over the moon!) or the PS2 Xmas, or the Teletubbie Xmas....sadly thats life.

Doesnt mean that it isnt still fun and silly in a good way.

I dont have social media so had to google. Brilliant 🤣🤣 my children loved peppa when they were younger.

FamingolosForDays · 25/04/2025 22:03

I always adored Nanny Plum in Ben and Holly. That program was ACE.

OMG I soo miss Ben and Holly!!

There was DEFINITELY a back story to Nanny Plum and Wise Old Elf!

It was aimed (I think) at slightly older kids and the episode where WOE is in shirt sleeves and waistcoat in a NASA type base when they went into space was just joyous! I was in hysterics and DD didnt get it at all!

I miss Ben and Holly - along with Peppa, the older jokes that kids didnt notice made them.

I agree.

Its why Ghosts and Yonderland were so popular. They know their audience! They play to the kids in general but also with the odd double entendre/eye roll thrown in for the adults!
