To be totally sick of series that don't finish

They just STOP. The latest case in point is "I, Jack Wright". I binge watched it yesterday and was really enjoying it. Then it just stopped. The last thing you see is a sign on the screen saying , "to be continued" . Only it isn't. Infuriating. The least they could do is post some sort of warning that there is no conclusion. And indeed no real hope of one in the future. Is that so unreasonable?

Netflix does this a lot.

This is a huge pet peeve for me. If there is any chance that it won't be picked up for another season, it is morally irresponsible to end on a cliffhanger.
Sheldon Cooper in Big Bang Theory agrees. He rang the networks until they made up storylines for him.

I guess the writers don't know that the series won't be renewed as they write the cliffhanger for the end of each new series? It could be worse than ending without an ending - see 'Babylon 5' where the writers knew that the series had been cancelled and had to rush to put in a couple of series' worth of plot tie-ups in a few episodes to make sure all the loose ends were finished with (although the scene of the lights being turned off on the space station still makes me cry). Ahem. Anyway. Sometimes it's unavoidable.

I'm still holding a grudge over Flashforward doing this and it's been 15 years!

I watch alot of Turkish dramas and they are the worst for this. If shows don't get the expected ratings straight away they just axe them and stop filming. I don't even start watching them now until they've at least completed the first season.

I wouldn't go as far as questioning morality, 😂 but yes, op yanbu, it's highly irritating to put it mildly!

I loved Babylon 5 G'kar is my absolute favourite alien.

They could have done a Blake's 7 - still gutted about this.

Thank you for the warning, LivelyMintViper, I shall wait for the next series to air before watching this one on the strength of your post.
It happens so often and drives me nuts too!

What an absolute let down. There’s no reason it couldn’t have finished. There were enough suspects, all they needed to do was pick one. Also the court ruling doesn’t make sense. There’s no way a father is responsible for his adult children in English law. Or at least if the law has been changed it ought to be changed back to what it always used to be.
The will actually made perfect sense to me from the start. He had taken care of his employees, his ex-wife, and his young daughter; chosen who he wanted to run his company and left his feckless sons to their own devices. Both of them could have gone on to lead good lives out of their father’s shadow.
Come to think of it, why did he have to be murdered anyway? It was a perfectly good story with his death being suicide or an accident.
