Reported my neighbours' car

Last night for no tax, MOT or insurance. Also reported it to my local police. He drove into the grove like a maniac, jammed his brakes on which made the most horrific grinding sounds and didn't really do much before he ran into the curb and finally stopped. Car looks like an absolute wreck too.

I've never done anything like this before but if he'd done the same an hour earlier he'd have ran into the kids whoever were playing out.

Police rang me back this morning and are taking it seriously - it sounds like I'm not the only one who reported it!

Well done, but be prepared for the car to sit there for months collecting dirt while it all goes unpaid.

He's driving it around the town so I hope he'll get caught sooner rather than later!

Good for you. I’d have done the same.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 24/04/2025 11:45

Good on ye 👍

SparklyGlitterballs · 24/04/2025 11:46

Well done. Deserves all he gets.

Good for you, op.

I think you did the right thing OP.

You don't need to add "if he'd done the same an hour earlier he'd have ran into the kids" to strengthen your case. I don't drive illegally, or like a dick, but nor do I bring my car to a stop to avoid colliding with people who aren't there any more.

Ifeelabitsick · 24/04/2025 12:13

I think you've missed my point - he drives into the grove frequently and the kids play out a lot - there's a decent chance he could hit someone.

I didn't miss your point. I agree that the way he drives might one day result in him mowing down the children.

I hope you get some peace via your report. People shouldn't expect to behave so recklessly without being called out.

@Ifeelabitsick

did anything come if you reporting him?
