Leaving contribution

I have been asked to contribute to someone's leaving collection and I don't like the person so I don't want to contribute am I wrong

They are not leaving their just moving to another area of the office

The point is if I declined what reason do I give for declining

The person that is coordinating the collection just said let me know if you want to contribute so if I say nothing she will know I don't want to contribute and I don't have to give a reason

That's absolutely ridiculous then. Why on earth are they getting a "leaving" present for basically moving seats?!! Even a team move doesn't require a bloody whip round if you still see the same people daily 😂

You don't say anything, you don't owe anyone an explanation but if you must say something just say that you don't have any spare money this month.

Why would you? I only contribute if I know them and like them.

you don't have to give a reason. Just "no thank you" and move along.

Because it's to show appreciation for what the person has done because they lead the team entertainment is great for for all that this person has done to maintain a good working team

Sorry my message wasn't very clear what I meant was if someone is heading a team of people and they've done everything to maintain good working ethics and making sure everybody in the team works to the best of their ability and then people are grateful for the leader of the team to keep the team together and make sure that the team does all the work they're supposed to do in the manner in which they're supposed to do it so they're showing their appreciation for all it this person has done that's all

However being a good team leader doesn't only mean work it means health and welfare of your staff and I was taken extremely unwell and I told this team leader and she just sat there and looked at me didn't even ask if I was alright and didn't even ask if I would be alright to get home on my two hour journey from work to home so that is why I am not willing to contribute

I used to contribute to all leaving collections. But I wouldn’t now if I don’t like them. Older and wiser, I guess. Would rather spend my money on people I like. If it’s a confidential donation then just put in 25p.

So ignore the message and don't contribute then 🤷‍♀️

Your posts read as though you are desperate for the person organizing the collection to ask you why not so you can then bitch about the person 🙄
