To want a more settled lifestyle in my 20s

Currently in my mid 20s and working a corporate job. Live in a tiny flat in a city centre. Weekends are spent partying.

But feel I want more space, to be home for dinner, not spend the weekend hungover, and to have a dog to look after and walk. Aibu?

It’s your life …

Your choice. I was moving every 6 months and sofa surfing in my 20s and hated it but that was what life gave us. Late 30s to 40s best years so far. If you want quiet life and tbh sounds perfect go for it

ItsCalledAConversation · 22/04/2025 21:42

Yes I had that life in my 20s and used to long for the aga/labrador phase too, but you’re a long time dead so enjoy your freedom while you can!!

purplepenguindancing · 22/04/2025 21:43

Why can’t you do it?

I had quite a “boring” and settled life from about 26 onwards to be honest, I don’t regret it! If anything I wish I’d got married and had kids slightly younger (27 when I got married and 29 when I had first child).

You don't have to party if you don't want to.
It's your choice.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 22/04/2025 21:52

I've just moved to a flat closer to central London at 33

I want some of that lifestyle of yours (of course, amended for a mum of one dd 😄)

Be sure you want to get off the ferris wheel girl - your settled period will last a lifetime 💕

YANBU, follow your heart. Millions of people aren’t living that life in their 20s. I was never much of a partier. For example I did 7 years in London and moved out to a countryside town at 25.
