To wonder if she knows the extent of the crush we all had on her Da? *lighthearted*

There’s a young lady in my neighbourhood in her mid 20s. See her round but don’t know her well enough to have a convo with - seems nice enough etc. But here’s the thing - her Dad was 2 years above me in school and the crush I had on him was CRAZY - UNREAL. You know when you’ve got a crush on someone and it excites you so much you’re awake ALL NIGHT - well THAT’S what I was like about this young lady’s Dad!! 😭

I even at one point - lost weight - and got a special photo shoot done by my photographer neighbour back in the day in the hope that somehow my pics would come to his attention (they didn’t).

Seems I wasn’t the only one who felt like this - her Dad certainly had heartthrob status among many of us girls - seems nearly all of us schoolgirls were vying for his attention back in the day!

I’ve seen this young lady more frequently around the local high street/coffee shops this weekend being Easter and I’ve often wondered - does she have any idea how UTTERLY CRACKERS we all used to be about her Dad?? 😭😭

She seems a confident, unfazed, worldly woman … but still 😭 I can’t help cringing thinking how I used to be over him !!

Haha, teenage crashes are insane. I was completely obsessed with a couple of lads when I was growing up. Can't imagine knowing their adult daughters now! Do you know if he's still attractive?

Zone2NorthLondon · 21/04/2025 16:42

Hot Da! That’s a rare breed. When I was a kid no one had a hot Da. They all seemed old and gawd you’d not want to catch their attention or they’d be chunterring nowdays music lt is not as good as in their day
Great story, leave it as a funny story. Have a smirk about it if yo7 ever encounter her

Notsolongthistime · 21/04/2025 16:44

Honestly
she’d chuckle
take the piss out of her dad
and then not give it another thought again

There was a boy in my area like that. He was a cross between Brad Pitt and Rob Lowe.
He was absolutely beautiful. And knew it!
Our mums were friends and I bump into him now and again. He’s actually turned out really well. A real gentleman.
But if you used to mention his name in the 80’s girls would visibly melt.
He had absolutely no interest in me at all. But I used to see girls ready to kill each other over him.
He is 60 now and looks 45. Time has been kind.

My friends mum is a teacher and they had a boyband singer come view the school with view to his child attending. They were reminiscing about the crushes they had on him

Zone2NorthLondon · 21/04/2025 17:06

Teenage crushes are intense. Had a crush on boy for 6yr at school. Yup six year
Never spoke to him, Weren’t in Same social groups. I was puce with embarrassment in his proximity
But somehow in my mind I’d created a meet cute and us being a couple forever

Worryabouteverything · 21/04/2025 17:15

At 16 we had 'tony' who all the girls swooned over.
Tall, blonde hair, friendly with everyone.
He played football for a few different teams but only in the lower leagues.
Hadn't seen him for years.
Then one day my late mum had a new gardener.
And there he was 'tony' still very friendly but was bald and running to
being overweight.

He wasn't a "da" then though. He was a school boy.

She would probably be cringing so badly if she ever finds out 😂

In our small town, there was a boy 2 years ahead of us, and be was the local dj who could turn any old house party into quite a shindig. And he knew he had it all going for him, and he was such a damn flirt.

I had gone overseas on a holiday and as we were behind the times I brought him back a 7" single vinyl record of Nelly the Elephant. Before he played it he would always say 'this is for.... you know who you are... 🤣🤣🤣. How cringe. Not that he was called me a Nelly as I weighed about 7 stone, but boy did I melt.

Fast forward are we are now in our 50s. The man has not aged well!! He friended me on Facebook some years ago, and when I saw the name and the photos, my brain would not register those two together.

Oh well. But I do always think of him if at some party and good ole Nelly the Elephant comes on.

I found my teenage crush on LinkedIn a while ago. I'm glad I moved on to DH 🙂

EasterDream · 21/04/2025 17:35

He sat CSEs only. Not an O Level in sight. Would this meet with MN Russell Group standards ? 😭

I had a terrible crush on the Corona Man. Wasn't overkeen on the stuff but bought 2 bottles weekly just to talk to him. I would play my music really loudly through the open window to impress him.

He asked me if I was going to Farnborough Tech to see a particular band I said no. I actually shook when I was collecting my corona from his hands....bet he thought I was a 15/16 year old drip.

Yes I’ve done FB stalking a plenty

He seems to be the type to add randoms to FB. I haven’t got the guts to add him but as we had mutual friends I wished him
a FB Happy Birthday and at least he gave my comment a like !!
