Would someone be unreasonable to be annoyed if a grandparent got one grandchild (age 5) 2 easter eggs and the other (10 months old) no eggs

A 10 month old baby does not need an easter egg.

I wouldn’t expect a 10 month old to be given an egg - but a little something else like a little baby toy or socks, just something. It’s mean to leave them out completely.

I'd imagine some people may believe a 10 month old wouldn't have an easter egg but personally I'd still have got a baby a little gift that wasn't chocolate. Could have got a little buttons egg I suppose, knowing it would likely be eaten by the parent or sibling. I wouldn't have minded personally if I was the parent though at ten months old if they didn't get anything.

As others have said, they probably thought the baby didn't need one. But what do you suspect their ulterior motive to be?

Not unreasonable at all. What would a 10 month old do with a whole Easter egg.

Something none edible might have been better, but it would seem clearly age related rather than mean?

All fine. Basically its my sister. She asked me if my DD (5 year old) had got an egg from our mum and dad. I said yes 2 and she looked taken aback and said 'oh, they didnt get one for baby and then seemed quite annoyed about it

Tbh I wouldn’t buy for one grandchild and not the other- like just a wee toy (hide n squeak eggs are perfect for this!) or a bath toy or socks or something. It doesn’t have to be the same but it’s a bit thoughtless to buy for one and not the other at Easter etc.

I have no kids and know nothing about babies. It would not occur to me to get a baby an Easter egg, or anything else because they are a baby. Horrified to realise I’m being a dick.

If I was the grandparent in this situation I would buy the baby a cute baby grow or bib or something roughly equivalent in price to the egg the other older grandchildren got

I agree with this. Presumably they got her baby a little toy instead - one that she (the mum) wouldn't enjoy herself as an adult and thus clearly wouldn't want to commandeer; whereas a delicious chocolate egg going spare...!
