Environmental sustainability re training

i have recently taken the skills network training course in environmental sustainability. I have really enjoyed it, I want to know what I can do next to increase my employment chances. Is the IEMA certificate in environmental management worth taking? I have an arts background and social care but I am looking for a new career after being out of work as a carer for two years. My confidence is also quite low. I am not particularly good with numbers unfortunately, any advice would be really appreciated as to what path/ jobs to pursue. AIBU to keep going in this direction?

It's my area. The best thing with jobs in areas like these is to work out what job you want to get and look at what qualifications they are looking for and work towards those. If you want to move into climate mitigation/adaptation in the public sector then there will be specific qualifications for advertised jobs, same in private sector or charity sector. Sustainability is often tied into climate areas. Also communication and project management skills are often desirable so try and tie these in to qualifications as modules where you can. Get to any free conferences or open days in the areas you are interested in and you'll see the backgrounds of people doing jobs you want to do. There are plenty of opportunities but you need to be able to offer the specifics they want. Consider entry level jobs and gaining qualifications when in jobs if the organisation will do that. If you have been out of work for two years you need to use all the help available on doing interviews and preparing for work.
Good Luck.
