5 lovely kids grown up, husband & I recently downsized homes so are in fortunate position of being able to treat ourselves for the 1st time in years, & thinking of getting rhinoplasty.
Fell off bike when kids were younger & broke nose, & been conscious of it since.
Honest opinions please. Would you keep it, or get it fixed ?

Your nose would be my ideal after surgery look. It's perfect.

BobbyBiscuits · 12/04/2025 12:34

It looks fine to me. It's not broken or damaged or oversized or lumpy?

I need rhinoplasty as my nose was broken more than once by a DV perp. It kind of looked ok for a few years but now it's dropping as the structure can't hold the flesh. Also nostrils are totally wonky.

Make sure you try and go with the best you can afford, and with personal recommendations. And make sure there isn't something else that you might actually need more that you could spend it on. (I'm not talking about cosmetic surgery/enhancement)

I don't think it looks essential but by all means, after careful thought and research, go for it.

Init4thecatz · 12/04/2025 12:35

Non-issue

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 12/04/2025 12:36

Does it look different from a front view? I think your nose looks fine as it is. I wouldn't change it but you obviously feel conscious of it.

What do your friends say? I would ask them because they see you in full movement and animation, all of your character. Nobody here can see that, just a side profile in a photo.

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 12/04/2025 12:37

I’d leave it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your nose. It’s far straighter than plenty of people’s who have never broken them. I hate my nose, it’s very pointy and joke that it enters the room five minutes before I do. I am far less conscious of it now that I’m older. I have never considered surgery though. No way would I risk an unnecessary GA. Also, surgery could go wrong and you could end up thinking it looks worse. I always think that unless it is objectively ugly to the point of being very noticeable, everyone looks better as they naturally are. You have a lovely nose, and I’m sure it suits your face very nicely. An altered nose would change your proportions and could completely spoil your face.

HenDoNot · 12/04/2025 12:39

It obviously bothers you no matter what anyone else says, so go for it.

I’ve had facial cosmetic surgery, despite everyone telling me I was mad, didn’t need it, nothing wrong with me, blah blah. My only regret was that I wish I’d done it 5-10 years earlier.

AnotherHappyCamper · 12/04/2025 12:44

If it's consuming you to the point where you think about it every day...I guess it might enrich your life to not have to feel self-conscious. But as you asked my opinion, I really wouldn't! It would never have crossed my mind that you needed to change anything. It's hard to know though; only you can know how big of a deal it actually is to you.

Don’t see anything wrong with your nose

Tinyrabbit · 12/04/2025 13:41

In profile it looks absolutely fine - nothing to fix there. Is it a bit off centre looking from the front? If so, it might be worth getting a consultation. But if it isn't crooked.. leave it alone and spend the money on something else.
You might be a bit self-conscious about it, but honestly that's a good nose!

Doolallies · 12/04/2025 13:42

safetyfreak · 12/04/2025 13:44

It looks fine?

Is it crooked at the front? Or are you overthinking it as side profile is normal.

Hankunamatata · 12/04/2025 13:44

I don't understand what needs fixing. It's straight and nice size

Liveandletlive25 · 13/04/2025 20:20

Thanks all for your honest thoughts. I really appreciate it. Also sorry to hear from those of you who’ve had problems with noses, & wish you all well !
I always thought I had a visible bump on nose from side profile!
Maybe I’m overthinking. You’ve all given me something to think about & I won’t rush in to any changes. Thanks again!

It just really looks like a very standard nose to me. I think I would rather spend the money on something else.

Maitri108 · 13/04/2025 20:23

I had a friend who had surgery on her nose. She was very self conscious and used to keep her hand in front of her nose when she spoke to you.

She was delighted with the result but I saw absolutely no difference whatsoever. I don't think there's anything wrong with your nose.

AbsolutelyZero · 13/04/2025 20:27

Looks fine, not sure what there is to
fix, unless it’s just not obvious from that angle.
