To think it’s unfair of the company to charge for this?

I ordered a dress. It came with a huge hole in it. I took pics and contacted the company who emailed me a postage label to send it back, which I did the same day. I’ve since received a refund with the cost of the return postage deducted.

Aibu to think this is unfair when the product was faulty? If I had just decided I didn’t want it then fair enough, but when it was totally unusable, this seems unfair! It more the principle than the actual cost itself.

This is a huge clothing brand, not an independent company either!

Yes, I would write a complaint.

Probably an administrative error

It’s not an error, I’ve received an email to say that they’ve processed the refund minus the return postage charge!

Who are the company?

Name and shame…
They should have given a full refund, and ideally some compensation for your wasted time.

And this would be correct if your product wasn’t faulty. But under consumer contracts regs they must pay for return postage for a faulty product. So hopefully that’s the admin error

Thank You for this info, I have emailed them with the info you shared and questioned them charging a return postage fee!
