To think that o2 are a shower of shits!!!

I am honestly losing my mind!!!

O2 aren't accepting my card as payment, I've tried on the app and by phone. I was stuck on the phone with there shitty automated system going round for ages. I then got put through to a call handler who obviously didn't want to be there and spoke to me like a piece of shit. I can't remember my password for o2 so the call handler sent me a code which I read back to her. She then said she couldn't accept the code as proof.

I've tried the chat function via the app and again no shiny shit could be given and I was cut off from that.

I've tried to change my password on the app but can't because you need to put in your password to be able to change your password.

I accept that I forgot to move money into my bank account so my direct debit bounced.

I speak calmly and polite to people

I can't remember my password and I am unable to change it.

O2 have cut my phone so I can only use WiFi.

O2 have sent me a email saying that they are going to end my contract

I can't speak to anyone at o2 because I can't pass security

Aaarrrggghhhhhh !!!!!!!!

This post is a rant but all help welcome

Am I being unreasonable to want to sort this out?

I recently left O2/Virgin media precisely because they are absolutely dreadful to deal with. Too expensive, terrible service. Can you not change provider?

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 19:56

@SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers thanks very much for taking the time to answer my rant 💐

I didn't know that I could change provider. How would I do that? clings on to a glimmer of hope 🙏

Edited to add, I agree they are expensive. My bill is 57.44 a month.

Are you still in contract with them? I changed to Youfibre for broadband and Smarty for mobile, but I was out of contract. I have a feeling youfibre will help you to end a contract 🤔
A family member is also with O2 and hates them too!

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 20:08

Thanks @SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers yeah I am still in contract with them. Think there's over £800 left on my account. I've never heard of smarty or you fibre are they mobile providers?

SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers · 10/04/2025 20:12

Youfibre do broadband and landlines, Smarty are a mobile provider. I got an offer for 32gb for £7 a month! No problems at all so far..

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 20:20

£7 a month is an amazing price. Will have a look at them.

I had fraud on my o2 account. Someone ordered a new iPhone. I reported it as soon as I had notification (and before it was delivered ). They didn’t do anything to stop the delivery. They let the person use the phone for 6 months. I was ringing every week during that time, on hold for up to two hours a time and passed from person to person or cut off. They didn’t even cut the phone off when the bill wasn’t paid. I could see the person using the phone on my account, they had even named it as ‘their’ phone with a name against the number. It the end the bill got to £800! If that was EE i would have been cut off if the bill wasn’t paid for one month!
I raised numerous complaints and they kept saying they couldn’t find my account. It was the most frustrating thing ever!
I reported it to the ombudsman and they didn’t reply.
In the end they cut the phone off, the outstanding balance is still be argued. The worst part is they couldn’t put me back on my old contract and I’ve had to start a new 24 month, more expensive one.
i feel your pain!

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 21:03

Bloody hell @poppy10101 thats absolutely terrible. Have you considered reaching back out to the ombudsman?

I said to dh will be emailing the ombudsman tomorrow.

I've looked at getting another sim but then I would have to change number. Not sure what to do.

O2 are the absolute worst for customer service.

DH lost his phone and wanted to order a new one. The order got ‘stuck’ in their system. Nobody knew why. Nobody knew how to solve it. They’d taken a large sum of money from his bank account, but were supremely indifferent about either refunding or ponying up a phone. Nobody wanted to simply cancel that order and start a new one so he could get a phone. He offered to go to the nearest O2 shop and pick up a phone there. Impossible. The phone shop wouldn’t have one to give him and it was beyond the wit of any O2 employee to get one sent there.

Nobody gave a shit that he was without a phone for a fortnight. Nobody gave a shit that this was dengerous, as he has a medical condition that becomes life-threatening very quickly. Nobody in O2 had the ability to phone anyone else in a different office (that’s not possible in this PHONE company). Nobody had any sense of pride in doing a good job or helping a customer. Nobody had any shame about the absolute shit show their ‘service’ had dished up. They refused to escalate the complaint to somebody who could help. They couldn’t care less about a public complaint on Twitter.

The whole thing was the absolute worst customer service either of us have experienced in our entire lives. It was mind-bogglingly awful. And mind-boggling just how indifferent and lackadaisical their staff attitude was. God knows what they pay their employees, as their staff culture is abysmal and none of the staff want to give a good service.

I’ve been with them for over 20 years and will be moving provider when my contract runs out. They’re not getting a penny more from me than I have fo give them.

MellowPinkDeer · 10/04/2025 21:22

They cancelled my new phone because they thought it was fraud. It wasn’t. So I didn’t get my phone BUT they still put me into a new 36month contract and happily took the money and the new direct debit amount . have a formal complaint with them at the moment because I just go so bored of them saying it’s my fault when it is entirely theirs.

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 21:57

@MellowPinkDeer will keep my fingers crossed for you that your complaint with them gets somewhere for you. No way they should they be taking money from you. Did you cancel the dd?

@BunfightBetty aren't they just. I've been with them over 20 years but like you after this never again will I use them. What a nightmare experience you've had with them, that's terrible.

SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers · 10/04/2025 22:08

Some shocking examples here of how bad they are! My relative also had fraud on her account where someone ordered a new phone. O2 did send the new phone out, but accepted she hadn't ordered it. It took several months before she was able to send the phone back, but had to accept a new contract. So now she's stuck with them for even longer!
When I changed mobile provider, I just requested the PAC code to transfer my number. I didn't want to speak to them at all. I had an absolute nightmare leaving Virgin broadband (same company) so just wanted rid of them.
I hope everyone else manages to get sorted out. Preferably with another company!

Cosyvibes · 10/04/2025 22:31

@SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers the experiences people have shared here are truly terrible, I had no idea how bad they were. Just shows they are totally a law unto themselves and don't give two shits. It says to request your pac code by text but unfortunately they have cut off my texts.

It's the fact they impact your credit rating is the stumbling block that stops people taking action themselves.

poppy10101 · 12/04/2025 18:33

The complaints team were worse than useless. I reported it to to Ombudsman twice and didn’t hear back. Once by email and once by post. It’s awful there is nothing we can all do!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/04/2025 18:39

@poppy10101, try Resolver: www.resolver.co.uk/companies/o2-complaints?territory_id=1

I'd advise calling until you get someone reasonable, can't say I've ever been asked for a password, there will be other ways to verify your identity. Are you sure you are not being a twat to them?

Cosyvibes · 13/04/2025 13:34

@poppy10101 it is horrible we all can't do something about our dreadful experiences.

@NoWordForFluffy thanks for the helpful link.

@everythingeverything1981 definitely not being a twat to them.
