So I’ve took 2 pregnancy tests yesterday and 2 of them came up instantly with both lines, although very faint, I then took a digital one in the evening and it says not pregnant.

can anyone advise on what to do,
For ref, I haven’t had a period for 3 years due to being on the Depo injection. I have not took my injection for over a year so I don’t have a record or track my periods as I still don’t have them.

thanks ladies xx

You are pregnant, that's a positive! The clear blue works by a sensor detecting the line, then showing up either pregnant or not pregnant, but you don't get false positive tests because they pick up hcg, the hormone that is only produced when pregnant. Xx

Greensaysgo · 08/04/2025 11:39

Also, morning wee has the highest concentration of hcg, so that's probably why the evening test line wasn't strong enough for the positive to be picked up. Try taking another clear blue digital in the morning x

Do they have any pink in the faint lines? Could be evap, but def take another digital with morning wee. Good luck!

Eggsboxedandmelting · 08/04/2025 11:43

Digital tests need more hcg for a +
Congratulations op.

What made you think you might be pregnant if you haven't had a period in 3 years? Is this pregnancy a good thing or a bad thing for you?

Huh? You can get false positives as I got one when in A&E once! They're rare but do happen. As do evap lines.

@TheSunnyDeer I'd wait another couple of days then test again.

ANDisayWhatsGoingon · 08/04/2025 11:47

Forgot to say I had a couple of evaporation line tests, some are notorious for it. One looked a little smudged where the dye had ran, just like your top one. Everyone on here told me I was pregnant, and I wasn't. I hope yours are positive, if you're wanting a baby!

Ah sorry, I didn't realise that. I thought they were non-existent (apart from I did know about evap lines).

Although most likely case in this scenario is still that the morning tests were positive because of overnight hcg levels building up in the morning urine, and the evening negative because the concentration of hcg wasn't enough in the urine.

I done another this morning, see below

They're rare, but can happen. Mine was terrifying because I was in A&E with horrendous stomach pain, they automatically did a pregnancy test to check, and told me it was positive!!! I insisted they did another, but had to wait 2 hours. The most stressful 2 hours of my life, especially as my ex said "well it can't be mine" and practically accused me of cheating!!

Thankfully the second one was negative and the pain was a kidney stone.

It does look positive, but I'd do another in a couple of days just to be sure.

I have not took my injection for over a year

The depo is given every 3mths to provide contraception? If you aren't taking it and not using any other contraception, why is it a surprise you are pregnant???

She didn't say that, she was only explaining why she doesn't have periods.
