UTI how long until better?

Horrific UTI. Came out of the blue yesterday. Constant feeling of a full bladder and needing to go. Lots of pain when I do go and afterwards. Blood clots (stringy ones about the size of a small fingernail).

called the doctors who prescribed 3 days of antibiotics. I was on a different antibiotics last week for an unrelated infection.

How long do infections last? Do I complete the 3 days of antibiotics before I call the dr again?

You should start to feel better within 24 hours, I would say (not a medical professional but very experienced in UTIs).

Are they sure it’s not a kidney stone?

They did mention a kidney stone but I have no pain in my back so they said it wouldn’t be that.
urine was sent off for cultures yesterday.
