Anyone else feel under pressure to do things because it the holidays ? I’ve got no chill

youngest happily playing well gaming but chatting to friends

yet I feel like I’ve gotta be doing and going

anyone else like this ?

perhaps I should just go and grab a book and sit in the garden. ?

My ds(11) is currently Minecrafting.

School had an inset day on Friday so broke up Thursday. Friday we saw the Minecraft movie, got some food and went for a walk around the docks /chavasse park (we're in Liverpool). Gorgeous afternoon.

Yesterday he said he was tired so we stayed in. He didn't even get dressed. Very chill day.

Tomorrow is the first of 3 12.5 hour shifts for me so I'm sorting out my uniforms and house before ds goes to his dad's. I've just finished a month of very intense night shifts so I'll be going to asda this evening to get whatever easter eggs I can still find. Ds has been happily Minecrafting all day. He's not into hot weather so I'm not turfing him outside. Likewise I don't make him stay in if he wants to play out in the cold /rain

He will probably do some stuff with his dad, some stuff with his nana. Will have some sit in front of the ps5 days and some days where we're out all day, or some of the day.

It doesn't have to be full on activities all day every day. Chilling at home and just enjoying each other's company is a perfectly fine and valid way to spend some of the holidays

Gaming has just started here too, so I've made a cuppa, got some chocolate I've hidden, and finally getting to read my book. I feel accomplished enough for going to local park or attraction when everyone else is off travelling somewhere!

I'm at the stage where my kids are looking for food and money from me, but past the activities stage...I've got a long list of cleaning and maintenance jobs to work through and am berating myself for not being able to sit still. But they need done!!

I swear I’m getitng lazier as I get older !!!
