though there is one actor who the part was absolutely perfect for Oliver Reed the looks the wild brooding temperament

such a shame he never played him

I love the book have always been disappointed with the adaptations, which isn’t uncommon when you become so involved with the story when reading it

Should Heathcliff be ‘beautiful’? I’ve not seen Dalton in wuthering heights, don’t like the book, but he was far too good looking to play Mr Rochester.

We did Wuthering Heights for A level and I remember all my class saying they were in love with Heathcliff! Not sure we would if we re-read it now!
And we all loved that scene where the young Cathy is putting flowers in Hareton's porridge and he's trying not to laugh.

I’m old enough to remember the recurring Dave Allen sketches in which they’d run around the moors shouting “Heathcliff”…..”Cathy”….”Heathcliff”….. “Cathy”. When I finally read Wuthering Heights for A level English, I was disappointed to discover that there’s no such scene in the book at all.

I adore the ITV adaptation with Tom Hardy, and Charlotte Riley as Cathy, she comes and collects him on her horse, barefoot. Absolutely love the two of them together.
