To be so so angry

Nc for this one! In Oct 22 my daughter was bitten by an XL bully and has had to have several surgeries on her arm.
We have several of the beasts in our area and I feel more and more incandescent with rage everytime I see one, muzzled or unmuzzled. I just feel there's such injustice for children like DD who have had to suffer yet they are still allowed to roam free as a breed. I saw one being walked earlier in the park and my mind jumped to 'i wish they had all been destroyed'

Just seen a video of someone with one on a train acting all big and clever because people look nervous when they see it. She thought she was the dogs bollocks.

These thick scum bags use these dogs for attention without a second thought on the possible dangers to others.

There was a woman on here a few months ago gushing about her “placid XL Bully”. When people questioned her intelligence she said she was an educated professional or something … she’s been quiet lately - I do hope it hasn’t eaten her

I’m ashamed to say this made me laugh out loud 🤣

I would feel this way about a human who attacked and disfigured my child, so I don’t think you are being unreasonable to hate XL bullies with all your heart.

They are monstrous freaks which should never have been developed in the first place. They need to be rounded up and destroyed, no exceptions. But MN is a weird place when it comes to dogs. The same people who will call you evil for wishing harm on these Frankendogs would be enthusiastically baying for the death penalty if it had been a human who savaged your daughter.

How can you compare a human, who consciously goes out of their way to attack a child to an animal which has been bred to fight.

Waiting for the deletion thread on this one.
I’m sure OP won’t be back.

I’m shocked so many posters support animal abuse.
It’s absolutely disgusting!!

lolly792 · 01/04/2025 20:20

They should be humanly destroyed. As for the morons who own them….

FrozenFeathers · 01/04/2025 20:20

Not loving all the calls for animal cruelty on this thread.

Surely OP's (and some other posters') beef is with the owners and not the dogs. Dogs can't help what they are. It's irresponsible owners, who take on breeds they don't know and don't know how to raise and handle properly, that is the cause of these attacks.

Whilst I understand the sentiment and agree you should be angry. It is not the dogs fault it is the owners, no animal is inherently bad, it is the owners who have trained (or lacked in their training) of the animal. If you see an unmuzzled XL bully report it to the police or if you see any report them in case the owners are illegally having them, that is the only way of dealing with the problem. Sending thoughts to you and your daughter in her recovery :)

If a dog hasn’t been trained, it’s in its natural state. So yeah, it is the dog.

We're so sorry for what happened to your DD, OP Flowers
I'm just letting you know we've edited your OP as it had quite graphic descriptions of abuse in it, which aren't allowed. We do want you to be able to get support which is why we haven't removed it entirely.

Randommomontheinternet · 01/04/2025 20:31

Hey,
I completely get your frustration and I hope DD recovers!

However, I do not agree with your hatred towards the dogs. I am a HUGE animal lover, mostly dogs. I have two myself ( Not XL bullies, one is a Maltese and one is a Maltese x border terrier)

I feel like the owners are to blame, not the dogs, as they are taught how to behave and what is acceptable and what isnt. You could say that about most dogs how they're horrible and all need to die, for example there was a talk on banning Rottweilers for a time..

I think you need to redirect your anger towards owner and not the animals themselves.

I do hope your daughter makes a full recovery and is back to full health asap!

LittleMissLateForWorkAgain · 01/04/2025 23:14

Your poor daughter. How scary for her. I m a grown adult and not scared of much but those dogs terrify me, knowing they can weigh more than some humans and the muscles on them! Terrifying things.

TheWonderhorse · 01/04/2025 23:27

I can't hate XL Bullies, they're not at fault. It's like being angry with a lion. They're the product of inbreeding between aggressive dogs. Humans created them.

I also think the rules will lead to more attacks in the short term because the dogs can't be exercised safely, and are stuck at home frustrated a lot of the time. It's no quality of life for them. People will get different dogs in future, hopefully from a better gene pool.
