Changing plans then attacking me

Some perspective needed please, not sure if being too sensitive. I made plans with someone on my lunch break today (was in a meeting all day so couldn't text any other time) They were loose plans, but I was excited, made that clear and to me, a thumbs up on the message confirmed the plan to meet was agreed. So when i came out of the meeting just now and messaged to find out where we were meeting, I was told "the plans have changed, I have arranged to meet up with x, leaving now" When I said I was miffed, they said there was no plan, even though they clearly said the plan has changed and that i was being unreasonable! It made me feel like they had a better option, that they were minimising me feeling let down and it's not the first time this has happened. What do you think?

They didn't attack you, though, did they?!

They didn't attack you, but rather denied what had happened so as to invalidate your feelings. I don't blame you for being miffed. I would put this person on a back burner and downgrade them in your head to an acquaintance.
