Why am I constantly static and getting electric shocks ???

At home and at work. I get electric shocks especially when I touch metal surfaces, especially light switches of those meal things to open doors at work.

But I also get shocks from other things, but not as much. Today I must have been shocked a good 20-30 times.

certain chiffon type clothes are also clinging to me.

what’s the deal here? I haven’t changed anything about what I’m wearing or doing. It’s happening at home and in the office.

what could be causing this increase in static ?

I've always been a static person, things that trigger it are:-

Shuffling on my work chair, the chair cover must be a man made fibre

Drying my hair seems to charge me up.

Wearing (fake cheap) Ugg boots, I think it's the faux fur.

Sitting at my laptop all day with 2 huge London Stock Exchange worthy PC monitors.

Generally wearing any cheap clothes with man made fibres.

To stop it, I always put my hand on the wall before leaving the room which seems to discharge it.

Funny story - DH gave me a quick kiss on his way out to work the other week and we literally had sparks flying as i kind of electrocuted him🤣

I'm a static person so is my eldest, I'm literally humming when I push the trolley around Tesco on a dry day 😂
