Like seriously, he spread marmite in DRY toast.

The man is clearly insane and we can't stay here any longer.

Despicable behaviour

MagneticSquirrel · 30/03/2025 21:31

YABU. Is it just marmite on toast you feel this way about?

Is toast with only jam ok? (I never have butter and jam on toast!)

I feel this way about toast and anything. Butter or margarine is an essential undercoat for any topping. Including peanut butter.

FML - leave IMMEDIATELY and dump the BF as he's obviously of a really odd human substrain.

If you stay with him and procreate your children will have fully plush body hair like a pelt and one eye in the centre. Probably.

Not worth the risk TBH. Better make sure.

CurlewKate · 30/03/2025 21:33

One of the major incompatibilities in my relationship is whether you have butter under peanut butter…

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/03/2025 21:33

No butter under the marmite? Is he a serial killer?

Pretty sure she's not planning to have a baby with her FIL.

See - they walk among us (on all fours though).
Observe the glossy pelt.........

What?!? That is so strange. You need the butter to soften the bread first and then the jam/marmite/peanut butter etc melts in.

Of course not! But the genetics............

He's a wrongun. Run for the hills.

TerroristToddler · 30/03/2025 21:37

Hate marmite so no idea about that…

but I am another who has jam and no butter. The two don’t work for me. One or the other is fine. For peanut butter I’d never add extra butter - I’d just spread PB directly on the toast and then add a dollop of jam!

Toast always needs a layer of butter before the toppings, I especially love it when it slightly melts and make she toppings a but runny. Peanut butter is a perfect example, some people only out peanut butter on but that way it's too thick in my book!

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 30/03/2025 21:39

You should gave left when you realised he ate marmite full stop.

DD does have a funny gait and a squinty eye now I think about it...

Just jam on toast? Fine.

Just peanut butter on toast? Fine as long as its not Aldi seeded sourdough which is so dry and crumbly it would mix with the peanut butter and turn into cement.

Just marmite on toast? You have either deeply offended this man, or found yourself a family of perverts who would think nothing of eating wire wool covered in battery acid. Run.

Totally agree it’s claggy without a bit of melted butter.

I have had marmite at least daily for most of my 45 years and never had butter with it… ConfusedBlush
however, a crazy South African pal introduced me to Philadelphia on a toasted sesame bagel (marmite on one half, Philly on the other, meld together and let them melt/merge), and that was love at first (reluctant) bite Grin
