Just that. In case you don't hear it today, you are doing a great job.

I am not going to get a card and I will still have to cook lunch and dinner and tidy it up because my husband is useless

Yes Happy Mothers day to all single Mums who won't get a card.

And Happy Mothers Day to all Mums whose DH's and DP's are too thoughtless to help their young DC's organise one - that includes you @ UsernameTalk.

Actually Happy Mothers Day to all Mums. .

It’s a shame schools stopped making Mother’s Day cards.

Happy Mother’s Day! My dc took my card to the shop to buy me some things 🩷 they would have been upset to not give me anything. Plus got an extra special school made one. X

Go out! Take yourself out without them and have a glass of wine and enjoy 😊

To offer a bit of hope to the mums of young ones who won't get a card today... I was widowed 11 years ago with three little ones. For years I used to take them to the shops with my bank card so they could buy me something, which was hard to do because my DH was very good at that stuff. But this year, now they are all teens/adults, they have all bought me something independently of each other, and remembered with no prompting. The day will come. Happy Mothers' Day💐

Happy Mother's day to all of you 💐☕🫖. My oldest slept in for football training so i got little more than a grunt from him as he ran out the door and youngest is still asleep. Neither will have a clue what today is. I have bought my lovely mum a wee goody bag of treats because she is an absolute godsend.

You know you don’t have to right?

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 30/03/2025 09:25

I’m a single mum and since dd was very young I’ve taken her to get me a card and box of chocolates likewise when it’s my bday and at Christmas. It’s important you encourage gift and card giving from a very young age imo.

It’s a shame schools stopped making Mother’s Day cards.

The schools have a curriculum to deliver and limited budgets. Also there's every chance that in any class there will be a child who's lost their mum.

Ted27 · 30/03/2025 09:44

@Purpleandgreenyarn

How sweet ! Make sure to spend that 78p wisely 😊

My DD is 13 months so still a bit young 😊

It’s a shame schools stopped making Mother’s Day cards.

Why? Because it meant mums had to lower their standards even further?

what age does it carry in til? Through secondary and sixth form? When so the teachers stop taking responsibility?

I remember the first one after losing mine. Everyone in the class making cards. Yeah.

Seconding Happy Mothering Sunday to all you single mums! My DS went through periods of remembering/ not remembering. Learnt to just roll with it and appreciate that he was a lovely DS all year round (mostly!) . The horror of the married mum and the mini Easter eggs thread that's running at the moment. Literally a roll on floor laughing read!
