Is this manageable?

I have took on a new job which is lower pay. I have worked out my budget and I am left with £700 after bills and food. This does have to include petrol but I only do short journeys to school/work. Does this seem manageable for one child, one adult?

Enough for what?

If you've paid for everything then it's enough isn't it?

🙄

After bills and food, what else are you going to spend money on? And is that £700 a month - or a year or a week?

Think that’s a reasonable surplus. Work out your possible unexpected expenses and costs of hobbies plus what you might like to put away in terms of savings if you aren't already. Keep something back for car repairs/boiler break downs that sort of thing. Anything your DC does.

And despite the first response it’s a reasonable question, op.

It isn't because she's so vague! If she doesn't know if it's enough, how are we supposed to know?
