Thinking of a potential “woo” moment from years ago

I was 16 and walking along a drain with a friend at 2am. A small boy appeared (we didn’t notice him until he was right near us as we were messing around!). We then noticed him walking towards us, about 6 years old. He smiled as he walked past - we smiled back and then as we walked on looked at each other and realised how odd that was! It was 2am! We turned around and there was nobody there.

this was about 30 years ago and me and friend are still in touch, she remembers it as well as I do. Neither of us believe in “ghosts” but we can’t explain it! There was nowhere for him to go other than in the actual drain but there was no noise and no reports of missing kids afterwards.

anyone else have a “I don’t believe in ghosts … but this was weird” experience? As in you didn’t believe in ghosts when I happened and you still don’t … but can’t explain what you saw?

I was watching a documentary about Thetford Abbey. I'd been there recently and felt a bit uneasy and creeped out. Just as I was remembering this, a wine glass on the other side of the room tipped over. It was on a flat, stable surface. The documentary was about ghost sightings!

That is weird! We were watching a “most haunted” type program and suddenly heard what sounded like footsteps upstairs - we laughed it off but another night we were watching a YouTube paranormal investigation and the same thing happened again upstairs! DH gets really defensive about it as he clearly believes it’s ghosts but pretends not to 😂

I've heard watching things like this invites them in. Years ago I use to watch loads of horror and ghost things and would get weird stuff happening in mine. Now I wonder if it's because of what I was watching.

I watch and listen to loads of ghost and supernatural stuff, never had a woo experience, at least nothing g that could not be easily explained.

Funny I’ve seen this thread, I have a slightly similar story that I thought about randomly during the week for the first time in ages.

Years ago in my first big job post college, a colleague had broken her ankle so she was on crutches. We came in at the same time one morning, I took her bag for her and we got into the lift. There was a man already in there at the back of the lift, he was tall and big and not in office wear. Kind of messy looking and he had a cap on, with loose trousers. There was something awkward about the whole thing so we just stood facing forward in the lift, got to our floor and stepped out. I went out first and sort of turned to see was my colleague ok getting out with the crutches, and there was nobody else in the lift!

She was still just inside the lift door so he couldn’t have gotten past her. I immediately thought I’d gone insane and had hallucinated him, she obviously saw my face of horror, turned her neck to look into the lift and immediately snapped back to me and said ‘was there not a man there’? She had seen him too and described him the exact same as me. I don’t usually believe in ghost stories and sightings etc, but I just know that he couldn’t have gotten past her, without either of us noticing. There was also just a hallway and then 2 glass doors either side where you sign in and out with a receptionist, so he couldn’t have just disappeared somewhere in 2 seconds, we should have been able to see him.

It always freaks me out if I think about it for too long!!

That’s mad!

When we were kids we went playing in a Jewish graveyard that was next to her house. She was telling me all about the “vicar” who walks around there tidying it up (she used to play in there often by herself - the good old 80s!) - later we were back in her house and I said I was disappointed that I never saw the vicar. Her mum laughed and said “what vicar?” Friend described him as a tall man in black top hat and a long beard in a black suit - nobody else ever saw him
