to spend 10 minutes scribbling with my left hand in imitation of my 2-year-old, rather than get her to do the colouring in herself?

New low: I started doing thank you letters by printing out appropriate pictures and getting dd to colour them in. Oh but she makes such a mess, and she's not really in the mood and she insists on doing everything in burgandy. Have just spent a quick 10 minutes scribbling in a two-year-old fashion, job done. Relatives will be thrilled. Not sure I'll ever look myself in the eye again.

what are you going to do when she is five? hire an oil painter?

WanderingTrolley · 14/05/2008 15:07

Get used to this.

Also, thanks to having to pretend to be various children when signing cards using my left hand, I am now damn near ambidextrous.

What's wrong with burgundy? If that the couleur du jour, and it's her artwork...

TigerFeet · 14/05/2008 15:09

I do this all the time

I made DH's birthday card this year. DD just wasn't trying to put the glitter when it should go!

DH loved it

BroccoliSpears · 14/05/2008 15:19

Well, in a country where half the parents are doing their children's GCSE coursework, you may as well start early...

BeauLocks · 14/05/2008 15:21

Only other parents of 2 year olds will know how crap they are at colouring in. I think you'll probably get away with it. Until judgement day that is....

auntyspan · 14/05/2008 15:28

HA broccoli have just done the same thing with my sister's birthday card.

DH was a bit sceptical, but hey.

LOL! I always colour with my left hand when ds wants to colour so I don't damage his self-esteem (PFB).

Sanctuary · 14/05/2008 16:42

Wait till your dd starts bringing homework back
