Gag reflex

Does anyone have a bad gag reflex..I get really bad and almost throw up if I bite into gristle or a big chunk of fat in meat dishes, even talking about it sets me off. When telling my son about an incident when i was a kid i had to stop driving to almost vomit out the car door. Are there many others who do this? Or am I weird?

No you’re not the only one. I found swabbing my throat for Covid testing made me gag as will certain smells.

I’m pretty gaggy, too. The dentist is always difficult.

Oh yes. I have a very small mouth cavity. It was fine when my dentist was a woman with small hands, but she left the practice and my dentist is now a big bloke built like a rugby player and his hands are huge.

Me too - particularly when they put that thing in your mouth for x-rays - I always retch at that.

I also couldn’t cope with the covid swabs - I was so relieved when they moved to nose testing!

It's got to the point I'm almost considering going veggie..I always order the vegetarian option when eating out for fear of a random price of fat and me looking to the outside world like I'm vomiting my food up
