To ask you what I want for my birthday?

My birthday is this week. DH has just asked me what I want

Truth is I am manic busy at work right now and I don’t really have the capacity to add thinking about a last minute birthday gift into the mix. I could quite happily cancel this birthday all together to free up a couple of hours!

I work full time, not massively into fashion although I do like a nice bag and shoes. Trying to lose weight/drink less. I like candles and books and cosy things or walking the dog. Could probably find a few makeup staples to top up. Bought myself a lumea last year…

so, MN, what do I want for my birthday?

A week of DH being the sole responsibile adult in the house and you regressing to the household responsibilities of a toddler?

I can't think of anything better than a few days of someone else making all the decisions, sorting all the meals, and the washing and the shopping and everything else, like being looked after by your mum when you're a young adult but a bit poorly and you regress to childhood.

A break once work has calmed down, somewhere nice?

Spa voucher?
You can get a
Massage/ facial/ or your nails done

A candle warmer.
A smart mug to keep your drink hot.
Kindle.
Fancy shower gel. I like Elemis tonka bean scent.
Cosy slippers.

Is there like a monthly book subscription where you receive a book every month?

I think you need a day out to be bought a new bag with lunch out.
Or excellent walking shoes to walk the dog and a decent walking coat. Or do you need a a decent trendy rucksack to use when walking the dog?

Night away or a magazine subscription (my dream!)

A folding kite that fits in your pocket. Well that’s what I want anyway.

A nice bag or shoes because you know you would like that. I wouldn’t do gifts that’s once used it’s done and forgotten.

I would love someone to order my favourite food and wine without me having to make any decisions. Also all dishes washed and the house tidy without my input.
As for material gifts, do you have a favourite perfume or makeup? Or just go with shoes and bags if that's your thing.

I’ve suggested he take me out for a nice lunch and to look in antique jewellery shops at the weekend - I’m a bit partial to antique rings too

Why not have a go at making your own ring? Book a session with a silversmith and do it yourself from design to make to wear? Silver clay makes it quite easy, choose your own semi precious gems? Totally unique🙂
