I don't have any photographs yet apart from those sent by the breeder which I don't want to post, but she is a gold/blonde-coloured show cocker spaniel. I have already had a dog named Honey, so can't use that and a family member already has a cocker spaniel named Lady.

Names are like are: Maisie, Milly, Rosie, Bonnie, Willow and Poppy.

Would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on any of the above names, I'm racking my brains trying to name her as I pick her up in a few days. 😍

Love those choices! I have a Willow and Poppy along with a Daisy, Violet and Peaches!

TwentyTwentyFive · 23/03/2025 13:21

I was thinking peaches from your description too. It goes nicely with Honey and feels a similar style.

Bigcat25 · 23/03/2025 13:23

I like Maisie and Willow a lot. What do you think of Juniper or Marigold? I also like Mirabel but that sounds more dramatic that what you have listed.

24Dogcuddler · 23/03/2025 13:24

Poppy is a lovely name for a cocker. How lovely. You must be excited.

saveforthat · 23/03/2025 13:25

My blonde dog is Dolly named after Dolly Parton.

SpringIsSpringing25 · 23/03/2025 13:25

Why not just wait until you go to pick her up and see what fits?

BusterGroove · 23/03/2025 13:26

Maple?

I like Milly and Poppy.

I’ll bring Minnie into the mix. ☺️

MementoMountain · 23/03/2025 13:30

Amber?

You probably want a name that sounds very different from Lady.

MementoMountain · 23/03/2025 13:31

Although maybe you don't get together with the other family dog often enough for that to be a problem?

LoudPlumDog · 23/03/2025 13:35

We have a Millie and a Layla. My best friend has a Bonnie. Lots of dogs we know called Willow and Poppy.

Suggestions …

My golden cocker was called Nerys! (We live in Wales). I like human names for my dogs.

Clarinet1 · 23/03/2025 13:54

I like Bonnie because that’s what she is!

TimeForATerf · 23/03/2025 13:57

I walk DSs lab four times a week, willow and poppy are some of the most popular name I hear shouted on the moors to dogs running off 😂 don’t like Bonnie but I’ve never heard a “Maisie come here now” yet!

go Maisie

PhilippaGeorgiou · 23/03/2025 13:58

Beprepared for her to run to every second dog owner instead of you - at least around here it seems every dog other than mine has one of those names!

MathsMum3 · 23/03/2025 13:59

Some friends of ours had a golden cocker called Treacle. I though that was a good name. I'm not a fan of calling pets a "human" name.

Gundogday · 23/03/2025 14:03

Toffee was my first thought.

FeministUnderTheCatriarchy · 23/03/2025 14:28

Peaches is lovely. Willow too, but there are so many dogs called willow these days.
