There’s an episode of The Orville where they do this. Everyone on the planet has a badge linked to their social media profile and gets likes or dislikes based on their social interactions. Their overall social media rating determines their eligibility to take part in life. It’s a comedy show so it was all done tongue in cheek but there was a fairly depressing message sitting behind it about the role of social media in current society.
