Micro Managing

Posting for traffic.

How do you ask to stop being micro managed?

Since I came in to post 4 years ago my department is in the best shape it's been in over 20 years.

Boast? Yes, maybe, but true. My line manager knows this. Yet every single day she is constantly on my back about things that I am already on top of. Yet she manages to not do her own bloody job which she is paid more to do because of it.

I get on ok with her but during a teams meeting earlier on this week my face leaked when I was sharing my screen because I had just had enough!!

How do I go about this? Literally coming from home each night steaming with rage because of it!!

Argh sounds horrendous. Been there and had to leave it wasn't the only reason but a significant one. I guess it's going to come down to either grinning and bearing it, a frank conversation or jokey-but-not-jokey responses. You could pre-empt the enquiries with a brief bullet point email update eg same time each day/week or agree something along these lines with her...I'm going to guess this isn't about trust or proving herself as she's been there long enough, perhaps it's stemming from her own anxiety?
