Today it is officially Spring!

I am a winter woman but I'm embracing Spring this year and feeling happy

My resolutions from NYE have mostly gone out the window 😭 but I'm using this day as rebirth and getting back on them

Mine
To lose weight
To try to get autistic dd to eat better

I had loads more but have abandoned forgotten them

Will you be revisiting your resolutions for Spring? Do you feel the sense of rebirth?

Does anyone celebrate the Spring equinox at all - I will be celebrating the summer solstice but wasn't aware whether this day was celebrated? ☀️

I don't celebrate it, was very happy to go to work without a coat though.

DappledThings · 20/03/2025 19:13

Was still light when I drove home. I find that a bit boring. I like it when it's dark at the start and end of the work day.

DeedlessIndeed · 20/03/2025 19:17

Always get a bit excited when a season changes.

Maybe that makes me sad, but there was a definite feeling of levity on my walk today as I heard the birds singing.

Th Spring Equinox is celebrated as Ostara but I skipped the dawn dew bathing, and just smiled all day at the sunshine ☀️ it’s just wonderful to see because everyone is nicer when the Sun shines.

TiredEyesToday · 20/03/2025 19:21

We went for a walk in the park straight from after school club, which is something we do more often between March and October because it’s light enough - first time we’ve done that this year, and it definitely felt like marking a turning of the seasons. We’ll plant some sunflower seeds in pots tomorrow (would have been tonight be run out of time!)

PeskyRooks · 20/03/2025 19:23

I celebrated Ostara by sitting in the garden eating a packet of mini eggs

DrCoconut · 20/03/2025 19:30

Things are hopefully on the up now and we’re in for a really good summer. I’m enjoying the increased daylight

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/03/2025 20:08

I feel like this summer could be great as well

Something about it being 5 years on from the covid outbreak maybe

Not sure but I do feel like it's gonna be a lovely summer 😌

That's the way to do it! I'm craving mini eggs, I bought a massive bag for £15 a while ago and had a lovely time with it 😄

Trying to stay healthy now though 🥺😔. not jealous at all

I love this

I thought about taking dd to the park as well but she was grumpy so she came home and had jelly beans instead

Fingers crossed that it won't have to put the heating on until September!

I celebrated in telling my children all about the first day of spring, the equinox, and looking at the sunrise and sunset times.

I'm giddy for spring. It's my favourite season - full of hope!

As for resolutions, I'm still working at them. Mine was to fix rather than replace. Other than the tumble dryer, I've mainly stuck to it!

This isn’t spring! This is the Spring of Deception! There’s at least one more winter to come before Actual Spring..

Maitri108 · 20/03/2025 20:15

I'm so happy to see Spring. What an amazing day today, I had all the windows open.

I have been sticking to my resolutions.

I’ve congratulated my SIL on nailing Imbolc this year.

Today is also Persian New Year! I've celebrated by spending the day with my Iranian mother and gave her some hyacinth to add to her Haft Sin table.

[I also ate a whole pack of custard donuts as a treat to myself, this is not an Iranian tradition but I think it should be]

Haft Sin, what do you mean?

My search for the meaning behind the haft sin table started years years ago when I observed some simple facts: If haft sin refers to “haft” (the number seven), and “sin” (th…

Well it will be a summer without a Tory government, so whilst this government is a disappointment, it's nowhere near as bad or as ineffective as what came before.
