How long should it take GP receptionist to send triage form to my phone?

I called a 14:20, not got anything, do I call again or wait longer? I’m off work with stress, I don’t feel it’s urgent but do need to see someone by Monday if I’m still feeling too unwell to go to work at that point. I really don’t want to call again. I hate phoning people at the best of times.

I would wait a bit longer

What is a triage form?

What time does the practice close for the day?

wonderstuff · 19/03/2025 16:18

I don’t know what the form is, reception said they would send to my phone and GP would decide whether to call me or book an appointment. She said send to my phone. Practice closes at 18:30.

I'm sorry you're feeling rubbish, if you can face it, I think it's reasonable to call again now if it shuts at 18.30. Otherwise, if you feel it can wait til tomorrow you could try calling as soon as the surgery opens 8amish as they tend to have a triage list for call backs / urgent appointments to be given out for the day and it fills up quickly.

I can’t see any reason why she wouldn’t have sent the form immediately, based on that. I’d be inclined to call back and clarify.

Thank you, I just called back and they had a digit wrong on my number, now just burst into tears, no idea why, bloody ridiculous.

Because you're so stressed it has caused you to need time off work. I've been there, coped up until the point I had to go off then the floodgates of tears opened. Be gentle with yourself. Hope you're feeling better soon and the GP is able to offer some help X

Thank you. Going to try to close my eyes and hopefully pull myself together before my kids get home x

So glad you phoned back, well done. What’s ridiculous is them getting a number wrong that you’d presumably just called in on!
