i made a suggestion in a team meeting about an issue we had been struggling with. Unknown to me my colleague sent an email 4 minutes later to our team, and other senior staff detailing my suggestion and prospective dates for to discuss it further mtg

so basically she has ran from the mtg, and emailed my idea to numerous people, and signed it

i think this is so sneaky, and i am a bit put out

have not had a chance to act on it as i have not seen her yet

i am quietly seething

should i say anything?

Do a reply to all "I'm glad you like my idea about . . ., I'm free on xx dates".

Keep all your good ideas away from your colleagues and give them directly to the senior staff.

If you want to be slightly less obvious, you could reply to all saying "I have had some further thoughts on my initial idea of ..., I will be free on xxx for further meetings."

I prefer my more stroppy first way, it's what I would do, but I am know for a lack of tact so perhaps the second way would be better for a harmonious team spirit.

Surely everyone else in the meeting knows it was your idea?

Were there other people at the meeting apart from you and the bitch colleague?

Surely someone was minuting the meeting??

Do what bran says and copy in the other people at the meeting.

not formally minuted we meet and discuss our workload, dept issues etc

she sent email saying we discussed xxx i would like to expand upon this further date tbc
