If you were presented with a statement that you had to say yes or no to and this was the button

Tell me if you think this means Yes or No

To me that means no.

A tick would be yes

DoodleDig · 18/03/2025 18:07

I think I would leave it if I wanted to answer no, but slide it to the right if I wanted to answer yes.
And then see what happened!

jackiesgirl · 18/03/2025 18:07

No. Slid to the right and green would be yes.

Pallisers · 18/03/2025 18:07

slide to the right to turn it from no to yes

Iknowaboutpopular · 18/03/2025 18:07

No ?

The slider might go another colour or have a tick if it was Yes?

StumbleInTheDebris · 18/03/2025 18:07

That's no, sliding it across to the right would be "yes"

But these things need to be unambiguously clear.

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:08

The alternative is a tick

Would this mean yes or no?

The tick means yes, the cross means no.

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:10

Apparently they both mean yes

OP posts:
Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:11

I am glad I am not alone in thinking that a cross means no.

OP posts:
Charcadet · 18/03/2025 18:12

In what context?

The x means no and the ✔️ is yes imo

Coconutter24 · 18/03/2025 18:13

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:10

Apparently they both mean yes

What is it for? Usually before it’s swiped is no and green is yes.

SpringIsNearlySpringing · 18/03/2025 18:14

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:10

Apparently they both mean yes

What you talking ‘bout, Willis? 🤨

Of course the black X means NO and the green tick means YES.

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:15

Apparently I blocked my own debit card when I turned the slider to the cross

So I shouldn’t be surprised it didn’t work

That is Santander’s reasoning

OP posts:

Complete madness

OP posts:
OrsolaRosso · 18/03/2025 18:18

But what did the wording say when the tick was showing?

Myoldbear · 18/03/2025 18:24

Yes, it all depends on what the statement was.

FrangipaniBlue · 18/03/2025 18:36

It says contactless blocked so surely a ❌ means contactless blocked no and a ✔️ means contactless blocked yes

Monty27 · 18/03/2025 18:36

Does it mean stop and the green one start?

SpringIsNearlySpringing · 18/03/2025 19:29

Yalta · 18/03/2025 18:15

Apparently I blocked my own debit card when I turned the slider to the cross

Am I being stupid? That’s right isn’t it? The X is it not being blocked and a tick if it is blocked?

Yalta · 19/03/2025 20:41

FrangipaniBlue · 18/03/2025 18:36

It says contactless blocked so surely a ❌ means contactless blocked no and a ✔️ means contactless blocked yes

That’s what I thought but apparently not

I put in a complaint about it as I thought I had an unblocked card and couldn’t understand why my card wasn’t working

It has cost me so much money and hassle
