Hi guys,
Last night, when my partner was lifting my 5 week old out of next-to-me (Snuzpod 4), he accidentally dropped her back into the crib. It was about 6 inches off mattress and her back hit first and then her head into the corner of crib mattress. She cried for 2 seconds, then was put straight on boob. She has been absoutly fine - no marks, no decrease in waking or feeding. She has a cold and watery eyes today but so does her elder sister.
I called HV this morning as it felt over the top taking her to A&E or GP as she was showing no signs of anything. The HV though was not helpful on the phone. She essentially said "I don't think she is hurt but if she was hurt you should have gone to A&E as leaving it til now would be too late"
I have terrible health anxiety and now feel that my baby is hurt and that I should have had her checked over professionally instead of trusting my instinct. I try not to rush to GP/hospital as otherwise I'd end up living there - finding the balance is tough!
Was I unreasonable not taking her to be checked over?
Unreasonable - should have taken her to be checked over
Not unreasonable - you made a sensible choice.
