To try for promotion after multiple knockbacks

I've been with a large multi national company for four years and have consistently received positive performance reviews. Despite enjoying my work, I've pursued a promotion multiple times, applying for nine jobs and going through six interviews in total, but haven't had any success so far. I like where I work but it's getting embarrassing now.

Keep going, good for you. I would suggest maybe finding a coach / professional advice to support but don’t ever feel embarrassed for wanting to progress and chasing your dreams.

You sound brilliant. Think about the feedback you received on each occasion and then decide how you changed after that feedback. Put that in your application as it shows that you listened and have developed since then. Good luck x

What’s the feedback you are being given on why you weren’t successful? If you can show you have a fulfilled that then keep applying. Otherwise can you do some shadowing, get a mentor etc?

update: It's with different departments/ locations in the same area of work - not the same person for six interviews 😆
