Nothing to do at work

Came back from maternity leave about 6 weeks ago, into my job but in a new team. I literally have no work to do. I work with clients and the head of the team hasn’t yet told the clients I’m going to be taking over from someone else, so I’m not allowed to be in any comms or calls/meetings. I had a couple of weeks reading through bits and pieces which was nice when I first came back but I’m so bored. The thought of spending today with literally no work to do is making me want to cry. I’ve asked my manager and they just keep saying they’ll be speaking with clients soon.

AIBU to be so fed up? I’ve started to just do jobs around the house to pass the time but feel really guilty for this.

Make sure you email manager asking for work. Ask if you can assist any colleagues?
Are there any training courses you could do.

Email your manager asking for work for the forthcoming week, and for any training thy'd like you to do. Specifically ask if anyone else needs help. Copy in the manager above that.
I am old and cynical and I wonder if there's something else going on here. You need to be able to prove that you have been consistently and persistently proactive in asking for tasks. Cover your own back, have every conversation backed up with a confirmatory email, and then you can chill during the working day without feeling guilty. Maybe keep an eye on the job market as well.

Do training courses. Non-work-related ones if need be, there's plenty of interesting things to learn off the Internet - some universities put their entire syllabus and recorded courses online.
