Compulsory gift collection?

AIBU for thinking that managers cannot force you to pay into a collection for gifts?

My manager thinks otherwise (name and shame emails etc) and I know others who have the same issue.

Have you actually said

I won’t be contributing and please do not name and shame me. Put it in an email.
