I live alone and am finding nice ways to treat myself well- so far I have

lay out my tea bag and mug next to the full kettle so it’s always ready for the next cuppa
Pu my PJs on the radiator so they are always warm
Friday night I swing home via M and S food to get some weekend treats

What else?

Lots of lovely ideas here. I have a terminal illness on palliative care and my big treat for myself is a walk to the beach, have coffee and a snack, read my book and enjoy the sun when it’s out. I love listening to all the chatter around me.

Thinking of you.

outerspacepotato · 14/03/2025 18:20

I bought a really nice erg to work out on at home. I have my coffee and go work out in a bright and clear space on that and my older Pilates machine.

@LoudPlumDog and @Enigma53 , my thoughts are with you both.

Weekly cleaner - I work part time but still refuse to do it! Haha

Monthly eyelashes. Just love them!

Started a proper skincare routine using an online dermatology service a few months ago, and my skin is absolutely glowing!

Very happy with the above and now looking for more ideas from this thread!

Flowers and a daily afternoon power nap.

That’s a proper good time. I love a DIY glow up. Nothing like lying there covered in gunk.

Exactly. I'm sure the bath is 90% crud by the time I've finished!

Full body hair removal, face mask, body exfoliator, face exfoliator, foot scrub and pushing my cuticles back!

Goodness, that’s a bit much for me. Necessary body hair removal only and then I’m largely submerged or reading a book!

God I love a good bath…

There isn't much more soothing than a walk on a wild beach 💐

I like to end up fully slick like a dolphin! 🐬

At this moment in time, while my hair is falling out from chemo? Getting my head shaved! Then I don’t have to see hair everywhere ( literally!)

Absolutely, I got the most fabulous wig through the Beatson in Glasgow and loved it.
My hair has now come back and I've a wavy bob, the hairstyle I always wanted after 50 odd years of straight hair.
I hope you have a nice suprise too when your hair grows 💐

Fstt1978 · 14/03/2025 18:40

So many fantastic ideas here. I've only skim read so I'm going to sit down with a cuppa and read it all properly

I have a gel pedicure every six weeks so my feet are always soft and pretty.

If I want a book I always buy it in hardback and choose a nice bookmark that matches the dust jacket.

Every morning I add a heaped spoonful of Ancient & Brave Wild Collagen to my coffee.

I love doing cross stitch and tapestry, and spend a lot on beautiful kits from Etsy and Erhman.

I always have a couple of St Eval candles burning, and guests always comment on how lovely our house smells.

Grazyna80 · 14/03/2025 18:47

I have four cats. I love them all.

I have been planning to get two kittens for ages. A friend of a friend had a pregnant cat and my friend put the word in for me and they were born a week ago.

I was just sent a blurry photo of a fluffy pile of tiny felines and I am so excited! In my carers support group we describe pets as a wellness tool 😍

LuckySantangelo35 · 14/03/2025 18:53

Those with a good skincare routine, what are your favourite products??

Bluenotgreen · 14/03/2025 18:56

Afternoon naps
Long dog walks
Holidays alone

Newmumburnout · 14/03/2025 18:58

The best thing I do, and its a new thing is be nice to myself. I've always been my own worst enemy and criticized myself but now I treat myself like I would a friend and it's helped my mental health.

Dontsayyouloveme · 14/03/2025 18:59

Gel toes every 8 weeks! I don’t do anything with my hand nails, but I just love having my toes done! 🥰

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 14/03/2025 21:13

An 'everything bath' just as a pp has detailed above. I have 3 kids under 7 though so doesn't always end up going as planned (one of them will always come in for a chat/poo/nosey)

Good skincare

Me and DH book a day of annual leave once or twice a year we tell noone about and just sit. We usually binge netflix, Eat a takeaway. Yes it's the middle of the day but note above the fact I have 3 kids under 7 🤣

Leaving a little early for the school run (whilst DH watches my youngest) so I can walk the long way through the back country lanes with my headphones on.

Good socks. "Posh ones", thicker than usual from white stuff when I WFH as our floor is freezing.

I'm desperate for a long length hooded dressing gown but not found one I can justify buying yet
