Thrush test at GP

Hi all

Does anyone know if GPs can do a test for thrush? I.e. one that is actually scientific rather than him, "hmm I think you may have thrush - stick some canesten on it"

I feel I have been fobbed off this way before and it's caused me trouble.

Thanks xxx

Yes, I saw the physicians associate a few weeks ago, she gave me a kit to do a self administered vaginal swab test. The surgery sent this off for testing, it came back positive for thrush.

Yes they can take swabs and do specific blood tests. (I have invasive long term Candida and I’m under two specialists for it, mine is related to autoimmune issues, I’m on Fluconazole permanently).
