To think that people act like they personally know celebrities and refuse to change their opinion on them?

It’s weird how people get so attached to the idea they have of a celebrity, even when new information comes out. If someone is seen as ‘nice’ or ‘wholesome,’ fans will ignore red flags. If someone has a ‘bad’ reputation, they can do all the right things and people still won’t give them credit. It’s like people decide who a celebrity is in their head and refuse to see them as a real person who changes, makes mistakes, or grows.

AIBU to think parasocial relationships make people cling to their own version of celebrities, rather than who they actually are?
