Looking for some real life perspectives from people who have done this or are currently planning to do this!

Do you mean sold EVERYTHING..?

Not me, but a friend did. They bought an RV and traveled all over the US. They homeschooled their kids. It looked amazing.

Someone from school did this but the plan was always to settle in another country at the end anyway.

Yes I have sold something and yes I have taken my family travelling.

Thanks for the replies. And yes sorry I meant sold everything. @repellingmnvipers can I ask where you travelled to and for how long? We are currently thinking of doing this but have no idea if our savings will cover it and I feel like I can’t find any advice anywhere online from people that have actually done it.

I know one family who did but they were very much a living on a whim sort of family. They’d travel and then settle in places and get houses only to up and leave again. It seems to me as much as they enjoy travelling they always revert back to renting a base.

I have also known a handful of people who have sold everything to start a new life in Australia and USA. One did 12 months and wanted to come home, one lasted 2 years and another was back before their kids started school.

I’d be thinking what’s my plan when I want to come home and need to start from scratch again.
