MN has made me paranoid - I can't really see my 5 year olds ribs- does that mean she's overweight ?

Her BMI is fine. But because no ribs are showing, do you guys consider her overweight ?

Don't be silly

You’re supposed to be able to see your kids ribs but kids weights fluctuate as they griw

googaj · 11/03/2025 17:58

Yes I used the kids one!

Ok I'm glad to hear I'm being ridiculous.

She's 115 cm and 22 kg.

She's big, as in tall ! Only just turned 5 !

Have you used the kids BMI calculator on the NHS website or something specifically aimed at children? https://www.nhs.uk/health-assessment-tools/calculate-your-body-mass-index/calculate-bmi-for-children-teenagers

If yes, she is likely not overweight.

yes this is what i always use to check. if it's good enough for the NHS it's good enough for me..
