To think that Trump is deliberately causing financial market instability?

I really don’t know much about financial markets but I have been wondering if Trump is purposefully creating chaos so that shares fall and he can make a killing?

We know that he cares for no one or nothing other than himself and really could not give a shit about how lives will be ruined.

As for the golden era, I wonder if any American still believes that he meant prosperity for them.

I don’t know, but was pleased to hear that Tesla shares have dropped. 🙂

It's possible but he has previously ranked his success by the surging s and p 500 so I think it's a bad thing it's tanking now

Mielikki · 10/03/2025 21:45

I’m sure his family and associates are shorting tge crap out of everything. We’ve already seen with Musk’s antics at the FAA that there appears to be absolutely no concept of conflict of interest in the US system. And of course no one at the SEC is going to dare accuse anyone in the administration of insider trading.

It's not Trump, he's just a useful idiot. The likes of Theil and Musk however want to see the world burn so they can buy whatever is left for peanuts.

Well I hope the scales are falling off now... Prosperity for the kleptocrats. Look into the so-called Gilded Age and how horrendously corrupt it was. Trump however is harking after that time (keeps making many references to the presidents of that era). There was also awful poverty in the country at that time.

Musk doesn't care about Tesla anymore. His DOGE department is busy cancelling government contracts with existing suppliers and awarding them to Starlink instead. Kleptocracy writ large.

Anyone with a tracker fund or money market fund can also make profit from volatility so not really a private club thing?

buymeflowers · 13/03/2026 16:55

I wondered the exact same thing

MyOpalCat · 13/03/2026 17:08

I saw a documentary about someone very high up in his administration who made their money and ran a company that was making money from stock market volatility.

Since then assume if not Trump not doing it for that reason than rest are.

Anyone with a pension fund or basic tracker benefits from volatility though (dollar cost averaging)
