Internal Women's Day, the men who make women feel worse. (title edited by MNHQ at request of OP)

Whilst I love the sentiment of international women's day, I find LinkedIn is awash with men ticking that box today with their cringeworthy posts, one after another.

One of them tagged his ever so inspiring wife who I know he has cheated on!

So many men in leadership positions think it's wholesome to tag their 1-2 women they have hired into their teams like they're some kind of diversity trailblazer.

The one that pushed me over the edge was one man who tagged about 20 women who he works with and said how incredible they all are. I saw some of them thanking him for being so amazing, stroking his ego, only for a couple of women to highlight they hadn't been tagged and joke they hadn't made the cut. So surely his post has had the opposing effect where some women today are feeling not good enough to be tagged. One of them definitely works close enough with him as they're at the same company and you can see in the same region.

AIBU to feel like some men are just writing a public post for their own boost and public profile without even thinking of how it lands? I've seen about 12 today and the best ones they've kept short, and not tagged people.

Well yes of course. It's a vomit inducing performance most the time.

And we are all as women whores in some way in how we perform in return.

I'm single by choice and love this. It's my best state of being.

But I have to deal with men unfortunately and sometimes flattering and ego stroking gets me what I need outcome wise. This is for my own well being and safety and no other reason I perform.

It's part of the game.

People struggle to be authentic. I find the online world makes this worse.

Some men will always manage to centre themselves but tbf they can't really win. If they all ignored the day you'd have something to say too, so just roll your eyes and ignore

You're right about the acting. Women commenting on a post they've been tagged in saying how grateful they are to be shouted out and replying how great the man is. I still cannot fathom how rubbish the women not tagged must be feeling. Well done to the women who called them out and huge WELL DONE, lads!!

The whole of LinkedIn is a load of bollocks, we all know this and participate anyway, because we all want to earn money and pay the bills.

IWD is a prime example of what bollocks it all is.

Cherry picking which women will be called out on your post. Says it all. Just tag no one! Say happy international women's day without your virtue signalling essay.
