Next weekend I am due to take part in a sponsored charity walk with some colleagues. It is a 25 mile walk/hike in a fairly remote area which is approximately 1.5 hours away by car. I will be travelling with 3 other colleagues.

I'm actually quite confident about the walk itself as I've been training. However what I'm really worried about is needing the loo during it. Following some my third pregnancy I have some issues with bladder urgency and I need to wee a lot in the morning. This day will be a very early start and now it's come around I'm really wondering how I'll manage. I can guarantee I'll need to go by the time we've arrived in the car, never mind the rest of the day!

I've only worked with these people for 6 months (agreed to the walk as a way to sort of build relationships I guess) and while peeing in a bush may be the only option, I wouldn't feel that comfortable doing it with relatively new colleagues.

I should have pre empted this. I'm now having second thoughts about the whole thing.

Have u checked toilet arrangements? Most sponsored walks have something in place.

if they don’t, pre warn colleagues in a jokey way u can’t go 100 metres without needing the loo.

there are all sorts of peeing aids these days too…

Is this an organised event with lots if people or something your group has organised? If it is the former I'd be surprised if there weren't at least some portaloos at the start, but you could contact the event organisers to check this.
And on a 25mile walk in a remote area I'd expect EVERYONE to be peeing behind a tree at somepoint, doesn't everyone on that kind of walk?

On a 25 mile walk you’ll be far from the only one needing to pee OP, in fact it would be more strange if you didn’t need to go! I’m signed up for a charity group trek up Snowdonia in the summer - the guide specifically says that we’ll all need to use bushes at some point. None of us have met before but as grown ups I think we can all understand that humans need to urinate somewhere along the line.

yep when you need to go its one of those unfortualy, sometimes depending on the route there may be cafes, pubs etc some will let you use the loo but it can be a mix

Not the answer you were seeking I expect but what about wearing incontinence pants in case you are caught short. It might give you confidence to enjoy the walk.

Start your pelvic floor exercises now. (I’s sure you are).

But here’s some inspiration whymumsdontjump.com/episodes/series-3/elaine-miller-(gusset-grippers)/transcript
