Can we get a disagree button?

Can we get a disagree or dislike button?
We are all adults and i'm tired of 'laughing' at posts i disagree with.

No thank you. If you disagree with someone then tell them why. You never know, they might learn something from you. Just a disagree button is childish and unnecessary.

I think a sympathy/hug button would be a good addition too. There are times when someone is mentioning an unpleasant childhood, poor relationship with parent, domestic abuse or similar and none of the available reactions (clap, thumbs up, love, laugh) is appropriate, people might not know what to say but might just want the poster to know they have been seen or their experience has been heard.

I like that and think it is a great idea.
I do think reacts that could make someone feel like shit have no place here.

Never thought to use the laugh emoji for any other reason than to acknowledge a very funny comment. It’s the same with text and WhatsApp messages.

Me too.
I don't think there is much point in a disagree button.

Probably not. Twats would still rather laugh at things like disability!

I’ve received the laugh emoji when talking about my disability. You’re not one of those are you?

Bloody hell, that’s awful.

I’d hope it was a case of fat fingers rather than that level of shittiness.

In my case, the person was putting a laugh react to every comment I made.

Wonderwall23 · 07/03/2025 20:58

On babycentre you can see how many people have 'liked' the post. I quite liked that when I was on the site because you can gauge the majority view fairly easily.

So sometimes I'd read a post and there would be loads of comments....then suddenly someone would come along as a voice of reason (IMO) and their comment would get 20 likes or whatever and that comment stands out amongst the others. You don't get that on MN.

PorkHollywood · 07/03/2025 21:09

It is possible to see who has reacted to your comment, if you press on the emoji it will tell you the poster.

BIWI · 07/03/2025 21:34

@InvisibilityCloakActivated

I think a sympathy/hug button would be a good addition too

Why not just post the Flowers emoticon on the thread though? Why would you need anything else, to be private?

@honeyytoast - I see you’ve also used the laugh emoticon, without bothering to post on the thread. Why?
