to not be looking forward to my birthday next week??

Ok, dh promised to buy me something for my birthday but he can't now as he was due a bonus from work at the end of last month that they never paid so we are are tight on money this month, he hassaid he will get me something once it is all sorted. Not a problem as birthdays are more than just what presents you do and don't get but what you make of the day. However, we were meant to be going out with friends aswell and now can't either.

How can I make it a good day as at the moment I am not looking forward to it and more worried about helping dh out.

I have a load of stuff to sell to help out but ebay decided that my 99.6% feedback wasn't good enough for them and they suspended my account for 30 days so that didn't help as I could have helped to bring a bit of money into the house.

Its our ds birthday the day before mine too!!

I know how you feel. My b-day is Saturday and we are very very tight for money at the moment too. My dh also said he has something he wants to do, but waiting to get the money. At this rate it will be December before anything happens lol. I do agree however that it is not about gifts. If my Dh just let me sleep in and took dd out for a walk then came home and did the dishes and laundry...oh my! It would be better than any gift

My only irritation (not sure if I am being unreasonable or not here) is my friends little boy's b-day is also the same day as mine. So she planned his b-day party from 4:30-7:30 on my b-day! Now ok...fine...but forget about doing anything now you know? And it is not like my b-day always falls on a Saturday when my dh can actually be off work to spend it with me. So I am a little miffed but oh well...i just know this year won't be one to remember so I am not putting a lot of hope into it so that way I won't be dissiapointed!

I am sure everything will get better for you! It seems we are always tight for money, but it always seems to work out ok! Have a happy birthday!!

Oh thanks, and Happy Birthday to you too for Saturday. Mine is next Tuesday so will be on my own with dd (22 mths) all day.

I go to the pub with a girly friend every Tues and we meet up with a few others to do the pub quiz so will probably do that but then dh will be at home alone and I think maybe I should be with him??

We seem to be tight for money every month at the moment but dh's bonus will help and he also has some other money coming from something so once all that arrives we will be ok, its just getting through the difficult months and counting down the days until this money arrives!!!

Oh and ditto with you on the fact that if dh got up and took the kids out for a couple of hours and then did something sround the house then that would be a fab gift, but it ain't gonna happen here!

Yeah I don't think it will happen here either haha. My father in law has been on holday too and he comes back on Sat. So who has to get him from airport?? My dh. Oh well...

I am in the same boat as you on the money side. We are waiting for something and once it comes...totally fine! My dh is also switching jobs on June 2nd and I am going back to work soon (but have to pay the cm before I get paid) so yeah...this money would really really help the level of my sanity!

Yeah I will have dd all day too...and then off to a crazy 4yr old party with 30 KIDS!!!! Not my idea of a fun time And I made the mistake of offering to help with food...

It will all work out eventually. Its just getting through the next week or two.

We have ds birthday (bowling and pizza hut) on Saturday but only 9 kids. Its enough for me to deal with!
