Rather than a European war, I can see a situation developing where Russia threatens countries one by one, and we’re forced to sign our assets over to America in exchange for protection. As is the case with Ukraine’s minerals.
We may not want the US to get its claws into the NHS for example, but we’d probably sign away anything in exchange for our freedom, as Zelensky is having to do. In the end, what choice would we have?
It’s looking like the US even have control over our nuclear deterrent. I think Trump sees Europe as ripe pickings.

Charles is still the head of state of Canada. It would be good if the UK showed a but more solidarity with our Canadian friends.

Some of Trump's goals are laudible - America was on the road to economic ruin before he came to power. Last year they spent more on federal debt interest than on defence (for the first time in over a century). That's not sustainable.

Unfortunately, his grasp of economics is divorced from reality.

I hope you’re right. I think the king i in an incredibly difficult position diplomatically vis. Canada, I really feel for him having to entertain the orange menace at his home.
