Gah, the sector I work in (Property) is so annoying with all the social media posts and LinkedIn wankery. I have to keep a hand in because of my job, but it mostly makes me want to vomit.

So many people now on Facebook are spilling their LinkedIn shite to their FB feeds too which also makes me want to vomit.

I know social media is a very powerful tool in business but Mary's old school mates/aunties/uncles etc don't give a shiney shite about a property they have at work to let for £5k a month. or what exciting training course they went on yesterday.

Gah!!

Wankernomics skewers my entire career in one sketch. I love it. But inside I cry.

I’m also job hunting so have to put up with it but I can’t wait for the day when I just delete my account FOREVER!

I saw their show at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, so funny and spot on about the corporate crap spewed by lots of companies.

For me, it's the brown-nosing, particularly in sales.

A company posts something and then all the potential businesses then swarm around it, liking the post, commenting about how great it is, etc.

I mean, if you spent half as much time showing your skills and doing the work as you did on LinkedIn, you'd actually be making sales.

Don't have Linkedin myself but I follow an account on Twitter called The State of Linkedin and it regularly affirms my refusal to register - just everything terrible about 'corporate' culture distilled in one place.

Jake Humphreys is featured on a regular basis - used to really like him but his Linkedin posts make me nauseous

I hate it but also have to use it for work/my industry. But it’s so cringey seeing people posting personal stuff on it.

Keep it business focused only and it would be so much better. It’s just cringey Facebook in my view.

I never thought I’d say that Facebook is better (as you expect this time of shite there)

@Arrivals4lucky it kind of smacks of the corporate bullshit shit we all laugh at on the MLM thread on here. I honestly am glad we don't work in corporate these days if this is what's expected

I've noticed recently the vocabulary used by LinkedIn posters is narrowing. Every new job announcement talks about a 'journey' and its 'next chapter'. There is far, far too much joy. Experiences in personal life are used to kick-start relections on professional life, with small children the most common reference point. Ironically, there are lots of posts in which the poster pats themselves on the back for jettisoning some aspect of corporate bullshit.
